The Women of My Family
I love and collect old baby and toddler dresses, and I pick up vintage crocheted doilies when I can find nice ones for little money. In this piece I combined these over failed mono-prints and then screened in photos of myself and my sister as young girls, and a photo of my mother and her mother from the 1930s. I finished it with snaps and hooks and eyes from my mother's sewing basket. The outer border is silk from Thailand that a friend gave me. We split the silk, and she has the other half of the fringe.
